I’m sorry this is so late, but here is my monthly report from March. We were on the road for 8 months. We started out our last month in Nashville Tennessee and ventured through Memphis Tennessee, Little Rock Arkansas, Oklahoma City, Wichita Kansas, Kansas City Missouri, Omaha Nebraska, Des Moines Iowa, St. Louis Missouri, Louisville Kentucky, and came home.
In March, we drove about 3,000 miles in Ace over the past month for a trip total of 17,000 miles. We drove only a couple hundred miles in the car over the past month for a trip total of just over 12,000 miles. Between driving Ace, the car, and running the generator, we’ve gone through 402 gallons of gas for the month, a trip total of 2,918 gallons, costing $644 for the month and a total of $7,768 for the trip.
Not to be a dull month, Midnight fell trying to get on a top bunk, in the middle of the night, and hurt himself bad enough to need vet care in Omaha. He didn’t break anything, got put on meds, and is feeling back to himself. Ace had an issue with the slide…again. Different issue of course, but a headache just the same. It is still not resolved. Allergies have kicked up and we yelled corona at anyone who sneezed in the RV. Spring began and we weathered a tornado in Nashville at the beginning of the month, plan changing winds in Arkansas, and some gorgeous days full of sun and temps in the 70s.
The country, and world for that matter, has done a lot of changing in the month of March. We started out the month in Nashville eating at crowded honky tonk bars among large groups of people. By the time we hit Oklahoma City, we were literally the only people in museums and they cancelled some big events like St. Patrick’s Day parades. Within a week of St. Patty’s Day, everything was closed- bars, restaurants, museums, amusement parks, churches, zoos, and tourist destinations. A week later, we started having trouble finding a place to stay as RV parks closed their doors as well. It was then that I made the decision to return home. So March was our final month on the road.
